Undoubtedly, this was a positive experience in several aspects.
We appreciated the organization and the welcome we received during this event which has been held for years and which involves around 50 artisans from all over Italy in a well-organised and cohesive system. Furthermore, the space chosen also impressed us, given that everything was set up inside the old Tonnara of Marzamemi, decorated perfectly for the theme; really a nice sight.
Although it was physically demanding, the ten days flew by because we shared this experience with other artisans that we had the pleasure to meet.
During this period, we exchanged stories about our realities, discussed projects and there was no shortage of moments of joy and lightheartedness, all accompanied by different personalities beyond the artisans – such as designers, illustrators, stylists, goldsmiths, tailors, ceramists – and by events of any kind, elements that made the experience even more lively and exciting. Even today we maintain contact, hoping to be able to meet again and share another stretch of the road together.
As far as the work side is concerned, this experience allowed us to appreciate an aspect of our profession that often doesn’t come out, but which we appreciated enormously: the relationship with the public. Having the opportunity to talk about our work and our passion gave us the opportunity to stop for a moment, observe ourselves from the outside and understand how far we have come and how much further we will have to go. The gratification is immense when we notice interest on the part of those who listen to us, in what we tell and what we produce.
In summary, it was a fantastic experience that we would happily do again.
